Sorghum Form

A spicy twist on the classic margarita, featuring jalapeño heat balanced with sweet sorghum syrup and fresh lime.

Ingredients

  • Tajín or chili-salt for rim
  • 2–3 slices fresh jalapeño
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz sorghum syrup
  • 2 oz blanco tequila
  • 3/4 oz orange liqueur (Cointreau or Triple Sec)
  • Ice
  • Lime wedge or jalapeño slice, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rub a lime wedge around the edge of a rocks glass and dip in Tajín or chili-salt. Set aside.
  2. In a shaker, muddle the jalapeño slices with lime juice and sorghum syrup.
  3. Add tequila, orange liqueur and a handful of ice. Shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds.
  4. Strain into the rimmed rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Fine strain if you prefer a smoother sip.
  5. Top with a lime wedge, twist or a floating jalapeño slice.
