Sorghum bran has been found to influence butyrate concentrations during dextran sodium sulfate colitis, suggesting microbiota changes. This study aims to characterize the microbiota during colitis to determine if sorghum bran within a diet helps mitigate the effects. The results indicated that sorghum brans may protect against alterations during colitis.
