First things first, open up your windows (if it is nice outside), put on your favorite playlist or old classic movie, throw on some comfortable clothes and let’s get to work!

Never Use It?

Have multiple salad spinners, cheese boards and other kitchen gadgets you are never use? Give them to someone you know will use them, like a student heading off to college. Or take them to a consignment shop or a garage sale. Either way, getting rid of your extra kitchen tools and gadgets frees up more space and rids of clutter.

Dawn Soap and Vinegar

Mixing half dawn dish soap and half vinegar is great for cleaning windows and countertops while scrubbing away grime, grease and soap scum.

Coffee Pot

Vinegar is such a popular cleaning tool in the kitchen. We have found that running vinegar through the coffee maker regularly cleans it out and does not affect the flavor of the coffee.

Microwave

Heat a cup of vinegar in your microwave for 1-2 minutes, and then let it sit in the microwave for a while. All the gunk in your microwave wipes away easily and the vinegar absorbs any odors.

Grimy Pans

Certainly, it can become a nightmare trying to make your pots and pans look good as new. Do you have pans with starch or mineral residue? Pour vinegar into the pan and let it sit for a while. After sitting for a while, wash the pan and it will be shiny and new!

A Fresh Garbage Disposal

Have a backed up or smelly garbage disposal? Combine ice cubes, fresh lemon and salt. It is a great garbage disposal cleaner that makes everything smell fresh!

Stainless Steel

Make your stainless steel sinks look like new again. Simply wipe your sinks with mineral oil to bring out the shine.

Empty the Pantry

Spring cleaning is the perfect time to go through your food pantry and get rid of anything that is out of date, empty or anything you don’t want. You can even box up the food items you don’t want and donate them to your local food bank. That way you can start fresh with a clean, organized pantry.
